It was ok...usually her books are better
Great addition to the series. Jordan and her friends are back and need to clear Rosie's name when her ex-boyfriend is murdered. Read it in one sitting. Can't wait for more.
As always, I am not let down with this author. The way she makes the characters seem so alive and makes you feel like you are part of the story is amazing. I love the way that she makes the books give little hints or always keeps the suspense and doesn't give away how did the crime too early.
I call it my JOMC test. Just One More Chapter. You have all been there. You are reading a great book, and you know it's getting late, but that little voice in your head tells you it will be okay to read "just one more chapter". And before you know it, you finally finish the book in the wee hours of the morning. And this book sucked me in. I finished it at 205 am. Liz Lipperman's latest installment in the Jordan McAllister sees culinary cozy series is wonderfully entertaining. The mystery is crafted well, with enough red herrings to keep you guessing.The characters are the residents of the Empire Apartments, and are diverse enough, and quirky enough to provide lots of giggles. I have read every book in the series, and the Empire gang feel like friends I go to visit. The storyline is provided in the white-up for the book, so I won't go through it again, but this is wonderfully entertaining. And, the recipes! Lipperman includes several in each of her Jordan McAllister books, and they are always clear, concise, and really easy to follow, as well as being delicious. I can't wait till try the Lemon desert. It sounds perfect for the upcoming family reunion.
Smothered, Covered and Dead was my first Liz Lipperman book, but it will not be my last! The characters were fun and exciting, lovable and endearing. I have to go read the rest of the Jordan McAlister books! Loved it from begin nin g to end!
Enjoyed the book. Got to meet Ms. Lipperman In person. Great recipes also. Highly recommend book. Looking forward to her newest book.
You can always expect some excitement when Jordan and the gang find themselves in the middle of a police investigation and this one is a doozy when Rosie’s ex is murdered in her home. Knowing she is innocent, Jordan and Victor put on their sleuthing cap to find a killer. I loved how this whodunit was set up with fingers pointing to several suspects with the most obvious one surprising me in the end by their action. A good mystery with good dialogue and a lovable ensemble cast that kept me engaged throughout the telling of this story. I hope there are more adventures with Jordan and her friends forthcoming in this delightfully entertaining series.
